Third Annual (social distancing since 2018) mParks Foundation Virtual 5kJoin the 5k that was virtual before virtual was cool! Run, Walk, Bike or SUP, Move so Everyone Can! What is a virtual event?A virtual event is an opportunity for you to complete your registered event on your own time, between September 1 and September 30. How can I complete the 5k? You can run, walk, bike, skateboard, paddle, swim or whatever movement you want to do to hit 3.1 miles. What do I get for completing the 5k?Registered participants will receive a t-shirt and medal for completing the 5k. Medals and shirts will be mailed out late October to early November. Do I need to submit a time?Nope, we trust you. Can I submit a picture?We would love to have you post your picture on our Facebook Page “mParks Foundation” or St Joseph Public Works. What do you do with the money that you raise from this event?The mParks Foundation has partnered with communities around the State of Michigan to raise monies for Parks and Recreation programs. You are able to choose St Joseph Parks and Recreation when you register for the event. Funds will be used for the restoration of the Maids of the Mist Fountain located in Lake Bluff Park. What does the mParks Foundation support?The Foundation provides financial support to people and programs that work to enrich the health and well-being of all Michigan citizens through increased access to recreation and outdoor experiences.
